Tokyo metro map

It puzzled me when I saw it first...

And a version for foreigners.

But it is really not as scary as it looks! It takes a long time to figure out the shortest way from A to B, but after that I think it's easier than in London.

I didn't manage to find a paper map with the english station names on, and often at the smaller stations there was only a Japanese map on the wall... it would take a good ten minutes just to find the two stations A and B and then another five to find a good route and remember the symbols for the stations in between. Travelling around Tokyo was like some kind of giant puzzle. I am impressed that you find it easier than London!! BTW your blog is making want to book flights and come to Tokyo right now... it all looks so fun :)

:) Come!

I find it easier than London because the stations are numbered. If you are at number 10, you just need to figure out which side you have to go (1-9) or (11-...). There is nothing like "east" and "west" and final station names, like in London. And you don't have to check names of stations every time the train stops because by checking the number you always know how many stations away you are.
